THE HODGE-GUTHRIE DEBATE

Mitch Hodge  VS.  Shandon L. Guthrie

Is the Kalam Cosmological Argument a Good Argument for the Existence of God?

The strength of the Kalam Cosmological Argument has been under fire ever since its inception by medieval philosophers.  When the Kalam argument enjoyed a recent resurgence in intellectual circles it began to foster philosophical thought and debate.  Now that we are in a new decade, this debate continues in this lively exchange between Mitch Hodge, the editor and administrator of The Examined Life On-Line Philosophy Journal, and Shandon L. Guthrie, a Christian philosopher.

The Hodge-Guthrie debate took place informally in February, 2000 at The Philosophers' Magazine web site under one of their discussion boards.  That exchange is re-printed here.
