Third Question

asked by Shandon L. Guthrie

Let us suppose at the moment that there exist candidates for extra-biblical sources of infallible doctrinal material. What would they look like and how would we know if they are authentic as was the oral tradition during the Apostolic era? Or is the answer simply that we test any contemporary candidate for being the source of infallible doctrinal material by Scripture -- a feature that you have suggested is not formally necessary?
